Planet of the Dead
current mood: cheerful
Happy Easter everyone!
I hope you all got lots of chocolate. :) And if you haven't seen the Doctor Who Easter Specail, I suggest you stop reading here, because the following will contain spoilers for that!
So... with easter this year we were rewarded with the Doctor Who Special - The Planet of the Dead (which I spent all day downloading!). And all in all, I rarther liked it. The whole flying bus thing was fantastic! I can so see the London public transport system being like that in 20 years time. Flying, red, double decker buses. Brilliant!
I also liked Malcom, he was both hilarious and just completely brilliant and reacted in a way, I think many of us would have in the Doctor had contacted us. I know I would have completely freaked out, lol. :D However I didn't warm to Christina as much. She reminded me a bit of Gwen, although that may have just been the hair. And do they always have to add a kiss in?? I mean really? It was the same with Voyage of the Damned with Kylie (Sorry, I mean Astrid) kissing the Doctor. Although I did like the Doctor telling her "NO" at the end. I liked that, but was also saddened by the fact that he hinted he'd never travel with anyone again after losing everyone. That was slightly depressing.
Not so depressing, but slightly worrying was Carmen's prediction at the end, which was rather similar to the Song Ending stuff in Planet of the Ood. So more foreboding stuff from a cleverly convinient person who has the ability to predict the future. Much like in The Fires of Pompei. Any ideas what "it is returning from the darkness" and "he will knock four times." is implying?? There have been rumours about The Master coming back, but the whole knocking thing takes me back to Midnight. Hmm... sounds like something to ponder on a rainy day.
So we have The Waters of Mars up next, which looked slightly creepy, reminding me of that japanese horror film Dark Water (which really freaked me out, by the way) And it showed the Doctor wearing his blue suit. I've always like him in his brown pinstriped one, though. :)
But before The Waters of Mars, I'm hoping we'll get Torchwood Children of Earth. Fingers crossed! (for it coming soon and also for more Jack and Ianto! :D)
Thanks for reading everyone, I'd love to hear you're opinions of Planet of the Dead and also of what is to come.
Kar, xx
